Danish for international staff


CIP offers different types of Danish courses for international staff at the University of Copenhagen.

Free Danish course: 250 lessons in 18 months - Danish for knowledge workers - labour market-related Danish

Danish for knowledge workers is a labour market-related Danish course for international knowledge workers. The course is divided into 5 parts of 50 lessons each. The course is offered in accordance with The Act on Danish for Adult Foreigners (Bekendtgørelse om danskuddannelse til voksne udlændinge m.fl.).

You are also welcome to participate in the courses listed below even if you have not completed Danish for knowledge workers.

The courses will be offered when we have enough registrations. The time and date will be arranged in consultation with the course instructor and the participants.

Are you going to teach in Danish?

If you are  aiming to teach in Danish, we can offer you a Danish course focussing on the language used in presenting  a particular subject area, giving instructions, arranging group work, giving feedback in the classes, and preparing oral and written exam papers.

Course details: 24 lessons, 3 lessons per week, two  taken as face-to-face lessons and the third one as an online lesson.

We will work with both oral and written assignments, but the focus will be on oral proficiency.

Minimum 7 participants. Price per participant: DKK 5,000 NOT AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT

Intermediate Danish

If you would like  to continue with a combination of work-related and society-oriented Danish, we can offer you a course with the same structure as Danish for knowledge workers.

Course details: 40 lessons, 3 face-to-face lessons and 1 online lesson each week for 2½ months.

We will work with both oral and written assignments, but the focus will be on oral proficiency.

Do you want to converse more in Danish?

If you would like to focus on oral Danish in your work life, for instance small talk, informal and formal meetings and professional conversations, we can offer you a course which focuses on interaction, consisting of listening comprehension, oral usage and pronunciation.

Course details: 24 lessons, 3 lessons per week, two taken as face-to-face lessons and the third one as an online lesson.

We will work primarily with oral assignments.

Minimum 7 participants. Price per participant: DKK 5,000 NOT AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT

An entirely different course?

You are also welcome to continue your process in learning Danish at one of the language centres. Please remember to bring your module test certificate, so the language centre can find a course at a suitable level for you. Or a fifth option?

CIP also offers tailor-made language courses, which are made to suit your specific needs. The course can be arranged for individual lessons or for small groups. The focus of the course could for instance be pronunciation, or written Danish, for example e-mail correspondence.

Price per participant depends on the number of hours and the number of participants.
