Start a Danish A1 beginner course – and use work-related Danish right from the word go.
The course is specially designed for staff at the University of Copenhagen, which means that participants learn work-related Danish right from the very beginning. In addition to topics relevant to working at the university, the course also focuses on key everyday language that can be used both at work and outside work. Course participants learn to use simple but idiomatic phrases for both writing and speaking Danish, i.e. the basic structures for interacting successfully in Danish.
The emphasis is on participants learning Danish in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, and the teaching is flexibly organized, so there is no problem if participants need to, for example, attend a conference during the course.
The course also equips participants to continue learning Danish on the Beginner A2 course.
- A work-related Danish course tailored to employees at the university

Get ready for PD3 – and pass your Prøve i Dansk 3 !
The course prepares you specifically for the exam: Prøve i Dansk 3 (PD3). Course participants work systematically with both written and oral Danish. Based on the requirements and language goals set for the exam, participants work with the different types of assignments in the exam: reading, writing and speaking. The pace of the course is fairly fast, and participants are expected to do individual exercises during the teaching-free weeks and attend all sessions in class.
The course starts with an on-line exercise that participants must hand-in before the first session in class (the hand-in deadlines are listed below).
Primarily international university staff who have passed Module 4 on Danskuddannelse 3, or who have a corresponding level of Danish and want to take Prøve i Dansk 3 (PD3) in the Spring of 2019.

Improve your spoken Danish - and build up your network at the same time.
The course focuses on conversational Danish and Danish for oral presentations. Participants are free to choose themes and discussion topics from their own work context at the university. A central component of the course is that participants take turns in giving short presentations which they have prepared beforehand. The emphasis is very much on ensuring that all course participants are given the opportunity to speak as much as possible and that work on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar is based on questions arising during the course.
If you want to improve your conversational Danish, prefer to choose your own topics, and enjoy monitoring your own progress, this is the course for you.
International employees and students at the university who wish to improve their oral Danish. Participants on the course should have a level of Danish equivalent to A2-B1 on the CEFR scale.
The course consists of a total of 16 lessons with two lessons once a week for eight weeks.
There will be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 8 participants per group.
The course can run on demand and is therefore not yet in the course catalogue.
Price: DKK 2,500 per participant.
Danish pronunciation (contact CIP for more information)
Improve your Danish pronunciation – and boost your confidence when speaking Danish
The course focuses on working systematically with Danish pronunciation with the emphasis on rhythm, intonation, and the connection between written forms and sounds. The teaching is based on participants’ individual needs and wants so that everybody gets the opportunity to practice the areas that they find difficult. Improving pronunciation and getting a better understanding of phonetics makes it easier for participants to actively engage in day-to-day conversations at the university.
International staff and students at the university at all levels of Danish are welcome on this course. The actual level of Danish is not so important as we focus on the pronunciation of the language. Teaching takes place in both English and Danish.
The course consists of five 45-minute lessons which take the form of four weekly meetings of one hour each.
There is a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 participants on the course.
The course can run on demand and is therefore not yet in the course catalogue.
Price: DKK 2,000 per participant.
CIP's tailor-made language courses are aimed at both administrative and academic staff. The courses are arranged for closed groups, for example for a small group of people working within the same research or administrative area in one particular section, department or faculty. The courses are tailor-made to suit the professional requirements, language abilities and needs of the participants, as well as their teaching, publication and work situation in general.
If you and your colleagues are interested in a tailor-made course, CIP can arrange a meeting with your department to discuss how to best suit your needs and wishes.
All our tailor-made courses are based on preliminary needs analyses in order to establish precise participant needs, goals and proficiency level.
