International workers’ listening comprehension

Project description

In her PhD project Charlotte Øhrstrøm focuses on international workers and their listening comprehension while working in Danish companies. The aim of the project is to investigate what situations the international workers feel a need to understand Danish and how they cope with these situations. She combines various qualitative methods such as interviews, observations and self-recordings, think-a-louds and stimulated recalls to understand both the mental and social processes and experiences of learning to listen in a second language.
