CIP Symposium 2021: Internationalisation 2.0 - English and the local language(s)

In January 2021, the Board at the University of Copenhagen adopted a new language policy. This means that the university now – for the first time in history – has a language policy intended to cover the entire university.

In CIP’s view, the language policy is particularly interesting because it makes it clear that ‘internationalisation’ is not merely a matter of ‘more English’, but also a process that involves other languages, including the local language(s). For that reason, the new language policy may be seen in relation to what might be called Internationalisation 2.0, a new form of internationalisation that tries to strike a balance between ‘international’ and ‘local’ perspectives and priorities.

Therefore, we decided to discuss this recent development on the CIP symposium 2021which took place at the University of Copenhagen, Wednesday 17 November, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can find the programme below and as a PDF version in the box to the right.
