CIP SYMPOSIUM 2014
The 2014 CIP Symposium focused on the University of Copenhagen Language Strategy "More Languages for More Students - Improving Study Skills for a Global Context". The UCPH Language Strategy is a five year research-supported project aimed at improving the language skills of students across the entire University in order to prepare them for study and practice periods abroad as well as for the increasing internationalisation in the learning environments and the job market.
The patroness of the Language Strategy, and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for languages, women’s rights, and education, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir visited the Symposium. Furthermore, the programme included international guest speakers from Yale University, Columbia University and London School of Economics. Also, a number of representatives from the University of Copenhagen was invited to speak about the Language Strategy put in use. The Symposium was well-attended with more than 140 representatives from both Danish and international universities and organisations.
