Guest lecture by Tim McNamara
On 24 september 2012, Professor in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics Tim McNamara visited CIP and gave a guest lecture with the title The validity of language assessments in the context of migration and citizenship.
Abstract: Throughout Europe and beyond, there are strong political demands for the use of language assessments as part of procedures governing migration and citizenship. What issues of validity do such tests involve? What ethical issues do these developments raise for language educators and assessors?
The guest lecture was open to all interested.
