Workshop: Investigating language and knowledge in the multilingual university

This international workshop will bring together experts from three different fields – Education, Applied Linguistics and Sociology – to explore how interdisciplinary collaboration can help address one of the most complex questions about contemporary higher education: namely, how do language and language practices contribute to shaping knowledge-building and sharing?

The workshop will offer an opportunity for scholars from different specializations to discuss possible overlap and complementarity in their expertise. Additionally, it will provide an introduction to LCT and discuss how and with which benefits it can be integrated in current research about multilingual higher education.

The workshop will run for two days, alternating between keynotes and more interactive sessions, such as a round table with questions from the audience and group work for participants to discuss applications to their own research. Four internationally renowned scholars from the disciplines of Education, Applied Linguistics and Sociology will deliver keynotes to share concepts and methods from their areas of expertise, followed by Q&As with the audience.

Participating in the workshop is free, but there is a limited number of seats due to the interactive nature of the programme. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the workshop.
