Management at all levels must take the initiative to regularly put language on the agenda and, for example, discuss how language-related issues are connected with internationalisation, recruitment, working environment and the quality of education.
6. Management tasks
The UCPH language policy of January 2021 covers a total of 10 sections divided into principles regarding "Language and employees" and "Language and students".
Section 6 concerns Management tasks and is divided into the following three principles.
We will provide our elaboration of principles 6.2 and 6.3 during spring 2024.
Principle 6.2 - coming spring 2024
The relevant manager is responsible for setting out specific requirements and expectations for the working language in a given situation, including ensuring that teaching staff have the necessary language skills.
Principle 6.3 - coming spring 2024
UCPH wants to attract the best managers, such as research centre directors and research group leaders, through active recruitment, introductory programmes and (International) Leadership development programmes (LUKU). Employees with an international background must be able to contribute to the management task, also before they master Danish.
