Tailor-made Danish courses at CIP
The Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use, CIP, runs tailor-made Danish courses for you the international staff at the University of Copenhagen. The courses are designed and organized to meet your specific language needs and to take into account the work tasks for which you need Danish. For the most part, the courses take place during working hours at the individual faculties or departments and/or online. All our courses come with a fee.
Since every course is based on individual inquiries involving specific needs and language backgrounds, CIP offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of course content as well as course design.
For example, the course may consist of your specific work-related texts or assignments combined with a focus on pronunciation, communication strategies, and grammar. Thus, the work gets done and Danish skills are improved at the same time. In addition, the courses facilitate professional and social networking at the individual departments and faculties. All courses, no matter how long or short, are subject to a detailed evaluation.
The courses that CIP offer range from a few lessons to those running for a whole semester or even longer, and cater for all levels from beginners to highly proficient speakers of Danish. You can also get courses specifically for international lecturers who need to be able to supervise students or give lectures in Danish. The size of the group can vary, and often the classes are small or even one-on-one courses, which allows time for - and focus on the individual participant. Prior to the courses we gather information about your specific needs, language background, goals, and relevant work assignments, as well as the work-related areas in which Danish is needed.
All CIP’s Danish teachers are highly experienced and have solid qualifications in teaching Danish as a foreign- or second language. The teaching material is designed especially for international knowledge workers and is customized to each course.
CIP is a research-based language centre, which services the whole of UCPH and offers Danish courses in line with the University’s rules covering income-generating activities.
