Workshop in Academic Danish

Clear, correct and scientific - an intensive workshop in academic Danish

Do you write articles and project descriptions in Danish - or would you like to be able to?

Do you need to improve your academic vocabulary to describe academic processes and research activities?

For the first time, CIP is now offering a short, intensive online workshop aimed at giving participants better insight into written academic Danish.

The workshop will be run online (via Zoom) and will take place over three Friday mornings from 10.00-12.00 starting on Friday, 27 November.

The deadline for registering for the workshop is 20 November.

The workshop is being taught by Academic Language Consultant Pernille Hvalsøe, who started at CIP in June 2020 as the new Danish language training coordinator.

Pernille has taught Danish as a second language for 13 years and has extensive experience in developing and teaching courses using digitally assisted language learning methods.

About the workshop, Pernille says:

”We have identified a need among international knowledge workers at UCPH to improve their so-called ‘academic Danish’.

Academic Danish refers to the specific genres and vocabulary that are used in an academic context, not only for writing articles, but also in other forms of professional communication such as email correspondence, project applications and descriptions, presentations and abstracts for conferences.

The workshop aims to help participants’ find their own voice in Danish by enhancing their ability to organize and structure academic content and to clearly and accurately describe and evaluate academic processes and research results.”
