CIP and UCPH Strategy 2030

CIP is the University of Copenhagen (UCPH)’s research-based resource center for languages and internationalization.

Through teaching activities, research projects, and advisory services, CIP works to strengthen the intercultural and linguistic competencies of students and staff and to promote UCPH as an international university.

As a way to promote the UCPH Strategy 2030, CIP has focused on a range of activities that can help further develop and support UCPH as the best place for the best ideas for the period 2027-2030. 

CIP's strategic focus in 2027-2030

It is CIPs core mission to strengthens language competence development and knowledge on language policy and use across the university.

This is done by being a resource centre for both management and staff on how to best implement the UCPH language policy in the everyday practices at the university, while at the same time balancing multilingual and cultural diversity both at the workplace and in the classroom. 

As part of the activities in the years to come, CIP will develop and implement meaningful models for language as an additional skill on the basis of funding from the government’s language package (2026).

Furthermore, as a supplement to offering relevant and tailormade language courses to staff and students at the university, CIP will develop lifelong learning programs with a focus on languages and internationalization for institutions outside the university.

In this - and other - work, CIP will collaborate with relevant stakeholders at UCPH on both the language policy and the DEI strategy.

At the same time, the CIP management will work to support and strengthen a dynamic, positive, and safe working culture at the centre with a interdisciplinary and innovative research practice. 

All in all, CIP will work to translate its research- and experience-based knowledge of language and internationalization into practical solutions with high impact for both the university and the society.
