Exploring and facilitating the international and multilingual university

Since the late 1990’s, the University of Copenhagen has become increasingly internationalised, and today internationalisation is present in all areas of university life, from research to teaching and administration. At the same time, UCPH is a university based in a specific Danish context.

At CIP, we continuously develop and conduct research projects designed to explore how internationalisation affects the university as a Danish educational institution, as a research environment, as a multilingual workplace, and as a societal institution.

We take a particular interest in identifying and addressing challenges and opportunities related to the linguistic and cultural diversity that has emerged as a result of internationalisation of a Danish university.

As an internationally recognized research centre, we collaborate with researchers across the world and publish in leading international journals and book series, reporting on basic as well as applied research.

We also produce research-informed educational materials, develop tests and engage in development projects with partners inside and outside the university.

In the pages linked to below, we say more about our central research areas and showcase some of our past and present research projects.
