Internationalisation and Language Skills at the University of Copenhagen

The project Internationalisation and Language Skills at the University of Copenhagen is an interdisciplinary collaborative project to be implemented in the period 2013-2016. The aim is to develop a number of initiatives that can contribute to strengthening the international dimension of study and learning environments across the University. The project is funded by the University's 2016 Pool for Educational Initiatives.

Aim

Like many other universities, the University of Copenhagen has seen increasing internationalisation of its study programmes over the past few years. This has led to a surge in the number of international students who take their entire programme at the University of Copenhagen, which in turn has produced a need for better language skills for students both during the programme and as a key competence in the transition to a global labour market. On top of this, the changing student composition has also revealed a need for developing new university pedagogy. Supported by the 2016 Pool, therefore, this project will address the various needs arising in the wake of the internationalisation of University study programmes.
